Tlos is situated in Yaka Village at 90 km to Dalaman Airport, 195 km to Antalya, 70 km to Kaş and 35 km to Fethiye. In spite of its vast lands, the ruins have mostly accumulated around the acropolis. The scenery of this acropolis at the entrance dominanting the whole city allures its visitors. The early period city walls located in the northeast of the Acropolis and the rock tombs are samples remaining from the Lycian culture. Mostly the city walls we see in the east and southeast were built in the Roman Period. The ancient theatre in Tlos has been remained totally unattended, and the interior side of the staidum has been used a a garden by the peasents. Similarly where the bath and church are located and spread of the city center has not been discovered yet. Immediately following this trip we come to Yakapark at 3km to Tlos. The region does not feature any cold springs. With all its harmony with the nature, Tlos Yakapark is situated at 650mt high in a cool and refreshing place , far away from all the heat of the highlands. Leaving our fatigue after vising the Tlos ancient city behind, we start enjoying our lunch in a beautiful natural environment . After lunch, we set off towards Saklıkent at 12 km to Tlos. As we approach Saklıkent, we see many coffee houses and cafes lined along the road right and left. Allmost all of them feature the same decoration. They serve the famous dish of the region Gözleme (Pan cake ) and Ayran. We go past Kayadibi Village and arrive at the entrance of the canyon. Even just walking by the cold spring waters will be enough for us to feel enchanced with a unique dynamism. The track sometimes gets narrow and sometimes rough. It takes 13 km to reach the end. We wear rubber shoes or espadrills since the bottom of the warer is garevelled and stony. If you haven`t got such shoes, you can obtain them at the entrance of the canyon. After this track we leave Saklıkent and head towards Xanthos. Xanthos, also known as Kınık, is situated at Muğla-Antalya province borders on the way to Kaş and at 46km to Fethiye. It is home to many historical ruins. The next stop is Patara. The region mostly located within Antalya Province, Kaş District and the rest in Muğla Province, has been a Special Environmental Preservation Area since 1990.
