Pamukkale is a District of Denizli, known for its underground waters which is situated at 220 km to Fethiye, 270 km to Dalaman Airport and 15 km to central Denizli. It is still recognized as Hierapolis by some nations. Its name comes from the ancient holy city called Hierapolis remaining from Roman period in Pamukkale. Pamukkale is promoted as  ‘Cotton Castle’  abroad.
   Pamukkale contains pools formed by the lime content in underground waters. It is the best known natural wonder of Turkey. Since it covers a land 2700 metre long and 160 m high, it is quite visible even from a 20km distance with its bright white colour.
 Furthermore the ancient pool, ancient theatre, the Archeology Museum are the other spectacular places in Pamukkale. 5-10 km to Pamukkale is the ancient city  Laodiceia. And 5km after this city is Karahayıt Village, an international thermal center. Karahayıt offers many touristic and thermal facilities.
